These events are for Illinois residents only.
Weigh-in Site Site to be determined. As soon as it's available it will be posted here. Off-site weigh-in is being used both days (Friday 6 to 8 pm or Saturday 9 to 10:30 am) to work around the Illinois Marathon on Saturday, May 1st.
Weigh-in Notes 1) Weight declaration will occur when each participant steps on the scale either Friday night or Saturday morning.
2) Wrestlers will have two consecutive attempts to make weight, either Friday night or Saturday morning.
3) Once a wrestler has weighed-in they are officially entered into the 2010 Freestyle State Championships and can not change weight class or division.

Weight Class Declaration

Trackwrestling requires you to enter a weight class when using their system. You will not declare your weight class until you are prepared to weigh-in at each tournament.

Wrestling 5/1 & 5/2
Entry Fee Registration - $25, absolutely no refunds.

Wrestlers must show their USAW card at registration for both events
(IKWF weigh-in card or roster can be used).

Tournament Format Kids
5 or less wrestlers in a weight class - 1 pool, double elimination
6 or more wrestlers in a weight class - 2 pools, double elimination. Pool winners wrestle for 1st place, second place from each pool wrestle for 3rd place, and third place from each pool wrestle for 5th place (Ex. A1 vs B1 for 1st, A2 vs. B2 for 3rd, A3 vs B3 for 5th).
Cadet/Junior/Junior Women
5 or less wrestlers in a weight class - 1 pool, double elimination
6 or more wrestlers in a weight class - 2 pools, double elimination. Pool winners will wrestle second place finisher in other pool in semifinal. Semifinal winners will wrestle for 1st place, semifinal losers will wrestle for 3rd place, and third place from each pool will wrestle for 5th. Note: Duplicate bouts will not occur at any point in the tournament. Example Winner of pool A and second place finisher from pool A meet for 1st place, the winner of pool A will be the state champion based on the previous result.
Separation Criteria All wrestlers are given a random draw number when they register for the tournament, weight class pairings are based upon this number and the criteria below.

*Per USA Wrestling policy, wrestlers must wrestle in their age group as described below. If you compete outside your age group, you will lose one (1) year of eligibility in USA Wrestling events.
Bantam (born 2002-2003)
Intermediate (born 2000-2001)
Novice (born 1998-1999)
Schoolboy/girl (born 1996-1997)
Cadet (not FILA Cadet) (born 1994-1995)
Junior (not FILA Junior) (born 9/1/1990 and after plus enrolled in grades 9 to 12)
Junior Women (born 9/1/1990 and after plus enrolled in grades 9 to 12)

Cadet/Junior/Junior Women National Team Qualifying

Top 2 in each weight class automatically qualify to represent Illinois/USA Wrestling at the National Championships in Fargo, ND.
Note: The third place finisher through state qualifiers will compete at the National Team Second Chance Qualifier on 5/29 to determine the final spot for each weight class.

Kids/Cadet Northern Plains Qualifying

The top 6 in each weight class qualify to represent Illinois/USA Wrestling at the Northern Plains Kids/Cadet Regional Championships Rochester, MN 6/3 - 6/5.

All Schoolboy/girl, Novice, Intermediate, and Bantam division wrestlers must wear a headgear.
Coach Requirement Current USA Wrestling Coaches card
USAW policy strictly enforced:
All coaches will be required to present a current USA Wrestling coach's card to obtain a wristband. You will not be allowed mat side without a wristband. This is a national and state policy and failure to enforce it jeopardizes our liability insurance and our ability to sanction qualifying event through USA Wrestling.

Weigh-in: 9 am to 10 am
Rules Clinic: 11:30 am
Kids Divisions Timetable:
12 pm (noon) conclusion (approx.6 pm)
Junior Timetable:
12 pm (noon) to approximately 4:30 pm
Cadet Timetable:

5 pm to approximately 9 pm
*Note: Any Cadet or Junior division weight class with one pool (5 or less wrestlers) will be completed on Saturday)
Sunday, May 3rd
Cadets and Juniors only
9 am to conclusion (approximately 1 pm)
*Note: Only those Cadet and Junior division wrestlers who make the round robin will wrestle on Sunday.
Timetable Note: The above timetable is subject to change. The end times for each  session may need to be adjusted. Every attempt will be made to complete wrestling in the Junior Women, Schoolboy, Novice, Intermediate, and Bantam divisions on Saturday but we can not guarantee this will happen. Any adjustments will be made at the conclusion of weigh-ins Saturday morning and also during each session. Announcements will be made to keep wrestlers, coaches, and spectators informed as to any timetable changes.
